At St. Mark's, many opportunities exist to establish relationships with other Christians in small group settings. Small Groups with trained leaders are available for singles, couples, men, and women.

While small groups are great places to grow in God's Word and get to know other Christians, they also serve as mission outposts in which Christians can pray for others to come to know Jesus Christ in a
personal way.

St. Mark's currently has 33 active small groups serving approximately 290 people. There are 14 couples' groups, 3 men's groups, and 16 women's groups. To receive additional information about connecting with one of the small groups at St. Mark's, please e-mail Pastor John by clicking here.

A special small group within St. Mark's is called:

KNIT ONE, PRAY TOO

Psalms 139:13  God KNIT us together in our mother’s womb.

One of our members, while reflecting on this verse, smilingly realized that our Father "cast us on," i.e. formed us -  he created the garment of our lives -  and He would be with us as we "bind off" - enter Eternal Life.  Even though the knitting (our lives) has mistakes and missed stitches, He was there holding us in His hands and helping us through this earthly life.

The small groups meets each week for 6 weeks.  The leader teaches the group the basics of knitting.  After learning the beginning stitches, they work together on Prayer Scarves.  As they are knitted, the group prays and shares Bible verses that have been important in their lives during their own trials.

When the Prayer Scarves are completed they are given to someone needing prayer and/or healing.  It is their hoped that the person will feel the warmth of the scarf and feel the healing and support that was prayed for "in our hearts" as the group was knitting.  The love that goes into the making of the scarf makes that person feel very special as a child of God who first showed us HIS love. For more information contact Carol Hurt or the church office.
