About Us

Since its opening in 1982, St. Mark’s Lutheran School has existed to reach out and serve the children and families of the surrounding communities with a Christ-centered education and academic excellence.

Mission Statement:
Equipping young minds for service to God, family, and community through daily study of His Word and academic excellence.

Vision:
St. Mark’s Lutheran School exists to promote academic excellence and a lifelong love for learning in each child through a positive partnership between the school and home. Teachers intentionally weave God’s Word into all learning and daily activities. Service to others in the community and world will ideally flow from the child’s understanding of God’s gift of grace in Jesus Christ.

Goals and Core Values:
The Christian faith is based on the Triune God as taught in the Holy Bible:

  • The Father creates and sustains all things, and offers unconditional love to all people;
  • Jesus, God’s Son, sacrificed Himself on the cross to pay for all sins, and rose again to proclaim victory over sin, death, and the devil;
  • The Holy Spirit brings people to faith through the Word and empowers them to live lives that honor God and proclaim His truth to others.
  • All subjects are taught with Scripture as the foundation and final authority.

Children, Teaching, and Learning:
Every student is a unique, loved, and forgiven child of God. Teachers strive to maintain a loving, healthy, and consistent environment for students during the school day. A variety of teaching methods, consistent boundaries and expectations, positive partnerships between the home and school, and regular communication between the parents and teachers help each child reach his or her potential.
